In fact, I was in Miss Irvin's English 10803 class last year, so I have already experienced the group workshop. I feel ok even I am also not so excited about.
So it is hard to say whether I like it or not.
However, at that time I thought it would really help on my essay since the comments were made by my peers and their opinion might represent a great number of the readers. Their questions might be the readers questions. So everything went well and it did help on my essays.
I think if there would be a group workshop again in this class, I won't be surprised and I think I will be totally ok with that. Well, I have to say that the otomsphere will be a little bit weird when we were talking about each other's essay.
You're right, it will be a little wierd to critique each others essays but like you said it will be helpful to receive some comments and at least look at things in a new way. I look forward to hearing your comments if we're in the same group.
ReplyDeleteIt feels a lot better knowing that this exercise helped you before in a similar class. I feel a lot better knowing that it actually helped improve your essay as well. Although, I do agree that the atmosphere will be quite strange when "kindly" trying to critique other essays.
